Christian Wong

Christian is the Executive Director of the Hawaiʻi Science and Technology Museum which provides meaningful STEM education experiences for the keiki of Hawaiʻi Island through science camps, after school programs, tutoring, special events, robotics education and exhibits promoting STEM literacy. He also currently serves as Fire Captain and Station Commander for Engine Company 8, overseeing HFD emergency response for the district of Hamakua. Christian serves as one of the HFD team leads for the County of Hawaii COVID-19 Task Force helping local businesses and organizations overcome the pandemic through interventions, PPE and research and development.

For the Keiki Heroes program, Christian provides connections to the county’s COVID-19 Task Force and other local organizations to develop partnerships, secure funding, and acquire resources.

Keiki Heroes promotes health education materials that are culturally relevant and age-appropriate to support the physical, mental, emotional, and social health of children in Hawai‘i. We believe that keiki can be heroes by helping themselves and others to adopt healthy habits to support community health.
